Game Quotes: Cavaliers vs. Clippers

(On breaking the losing streak): "I told the guys it's kind of bittersweet. I'm glad that it's over, but with about a minute left in the game we were up by about four or five points and I said, ‘If we would have played this hard last game we would have won.' It's great, that we finally got the monkey off of our back, but I expect our guys to play this hard every single night and play with that type of energy and urgency. If we do that, we will be okay."
(On the pressure of the losing streak): "There was no pressure on me. My main concern was making sure that every day we got better as a basketball team and as basketball players. I don't think there was any pressure whatsoever. It was just the fact that all of the things that we had happen, all of the injuries, we got on a bad stretch and it just snowballed. As far as pressure, I didn't feel any pressure."
(On the mood in the locker room): "They're in there jumping around and having a good time. I told them to enjoy it but let's not take a big breath and think okay we got a win, great. We have to think that we are supposed to win games. We have got to come ready with the same type of attitude Sunday."
(On the return of Mo Williams): "He gave us a big spark. I thought in the first quarter his energy was fantastic and he was getting everybody involved. We did a heck of a job of really moving the ball tonight. We had some situations where we didn't move it like I wanted to, but for the most part, when you have 34 assists in the game, you are doing a great job of being unselfish. I thought he did a really good job of creating the tempo that we want. He was really looking to push the ball and be aggressive. We did a really good job of getting up and down the floor. Obviously, his return was great. It was good to see him out there playing as hard as he was playing and getting everyone involved. We saw that leadership that we had been missing as well."

(On how it felt to win tonight): "It feels great. It feels even greater to end the streak. It's kind of bittersweet because it's a win, but we also have Washington on Sunday and its back to the drawing board. We have got to get in the lab and see what we are going to do against them defensively and try to get another one."
(On what he was thinking after his block on Blake Griffin late in the game): "Go. I knew there was one man on the ground and it was a great transition play. I think it was either Mo or Gib who hit a three. It was just a great play overall."

(On the win tonight): "(It was good) for the morale of this team, this city and these fans. It was just finally good to get it. The fans have been with us from day one and it just shows the character of these guys as far as still coming in and working hard. We were just waiting for when all of that hard work would pay off. It just feels good to have the feeling as far as getting a win and the atmosphere after a win."
(On defending Blake Griffin): "I just knew I had to stay between him and the basket and have him shoot over me. The most important thing is you have to go at him when you have the ball offensively and make him run defensively as well. Just knowing that, I was able to put some pressure on him and make him work on both ends of the floor. It's what you have got to do when you're playing against a guy like that."

CLIPPERS HEAD COACH VINNY DEL NEGRO

(On keys to Cavs win): "A lot of stuff. One, they got Mo Williams back and he had 17 points and 14 assists. They're a different team obviously with their star point guard, so that was a big thing. We couldn't control their penetration very well. I thought we started the game off soft and I thought they got confidence in the first quarter, especially at the end of the first quarter. We were leaking out on rebounds, we weren't disciplined and I don't think our ball movement was very good tonight and theirs was. They had a lot of assists, I think that was because of Mo, and I thought, at times, we got out-worked. Overall, I just thought they out-worked us a little bit and that's not a good sign."
(On Cavs having more incentive): "Probably. We need to be hungry as well. There's no excuse for that. You can't get out-worked in this league. We have players out just like they have players out, but there's no excuses. You've got to win games. We had our opportunity at the end. We were down and we fought ourselves back. We had an opportunity in regulation and couldn't convert."
(On thought on last shot of regulation as a possible goaltend): "I thought it was goaltending. They didn't think it was, they can't review it because it wasn't a call that was made. I'll have to look at the film, I couldn't see from that angle. It looked like it got on the glass, but I'm guessing, it's too far away."
(On defense of J.J. Hickson being physical with Blake Griffin): "He (Hickson) did. J.J. is a long, athletic kid. Blake got his numbers, but I thought they were difficult. I didn't think there were a lot of easy ones for him and other guys have to make plays. We've got to share the ball better, we've got to have more assists, better ball movement, better body movement, and I think we get very stagnant coming down and throwing it to him (Griffin). Teams load up on him and we've got to do a better job getting to our sets, hard cuts, quick decisions, get him on the move, and we try to do that. But, with our body count right now, I think at times we laid back and just tried to do things a little bit easier than they need to be."

BLAKE GRIFFIN

(On Cavs ending losing streak): "It's tough, but they (Cavs) were hungry, they were really hungry. They played well, you've got to give it to them. Some of those situations toward the end didn't help us."
(On his field goal attempt at the end of regulation): "I can't say what I think about all those things. That was unbelievable. Throughout the whole game, it was just unbelievable."
(On Cavs having home-court advantage): "I don't know, I don't know what it was. I think that was the worst home-court advantage I've ever seen. There's such a thing as home-court advantage, but that was unbelievable."
(On J.J. Hickson): "He played well, he played really well. A lot of their guys played well. You've got to give to them. They were hungry. We need to do a better job. Yeah (expecting good defense by Hickson), but I wasn't expecting other things."
