STATS Fun Fact

STATSIn the Cavaliers win over the Magic on Sunday, Kyrie Irving controlled the pace of the game while dishing out a team-high 10 assists. As a result, Irving possessed the basketball for six minutes and 21 seconds, slightly over three seconds more than the next closest Cavalier in that category (Shaun Livingston, 3:10).

Key to the Game/Key Matchup

Key to the Game

Push the Tempo

While Indiana’s defense has been rock solid all season, their offense has struggled to keep up. Indiana has averaged just 94.7 ppg and shot a mere 43.5 percent from the floor this season.

Defensively, the Cavaliers have been successful at creating turnovers all season. The Wine and Gold come into tonight's game having forced 15.4 miscues a games, good enough for seventh in the NBA.

If the Cavaliers can continue to force turnovers which lead to fastbreak opportunities, then they should be able to force the tempo of the game. The Pacers are just 5-11 this season when their opponent scores 100 points or more.

Key Matchup

Alonzo Gee vs. Paul George

Paul George is an emerging superstar and can carry the Pacers to victory in a number of different ways.

On the season, George is averaging a team-high 17.5 points while ranking second on the team in both rebounding (7.7 rpg) and assists (4.1 apg). The Pacers are 20-8 this season when George leads the Pacers in scoring.

Alonzo Gee is the Wine and Gold's best perimeter defender and will more than likely draw the assignment against George.

If Gee can contain George while holding him to at, or near his season average, then it will increase the chances of the Cavaliers coming away with their third victory in a row.
