Company says offer to LeBron James was a "stunt"

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The local start-up company that offered LeBron James a small financial stake in the firm if he returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers last summer admits the offer was a "PR stunt."

But the president for Ohio City app maker Phenom said the company still intends to formally offer James a one-percent stake in the business, first promised in the run-up to James' announcement that he was indeed returning to the Cavaliers via free agency on July 11.

The company's offer was reported by Crain's Cleveland Business in July.

LeBron mania has spread to the arena of NFL end zone celebrations.

Since hometown boy LeBron James decided to return to Ohio, excitement has run rampant. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Cleveland Browns running back Terrance West and Baltimore Ravens fullback Kyle Juszczyk spread the love Sunday at FirstEnergy Stadium.

After West plunged past the goal line for the game's first touchdown, he channeled James by pulling out the four-time NBA MVP's "dance move."
