LeBron James out of top three in NBA MVP race for first time since 2008

BOSTON -- LeBron James finished out of the top three in the race for the NBA MVP, according to the list of finalists for the league's most prestigious regular-season award announced by TNT before Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals.
Russell Westbrook, James Harden, and Kawhi Leonard are the three finalists. The winner, as well as the rest of the NBA awards and complete results of media voting (which determines the awards) will be unveiled June 26 as part of the league's first awards TV show on TNT.
James is a four-time MVP and posted career highs in rebounds (8.6), assists (8.7) and triple doubles (13) in this his 14th season. He also averaged 26.4 points per game. - CLICK HERE to read full story.
Cavaliers set record for largest margin of victory in Eastern finals with 130-86 win over Celtics in Game 2

BOSTON -- The Celtics are going to board a plane Saturday and fly west to you in Cleveland.
They can't be happy about it.
There's an ocean between Boston and the Cavs right now in the Eastern Conference finals. It's a mismatch of gargantuan proportions, illustrated by Cleveland's historic 130-86 win in Game 2.
The Cavs' 44-point win is the largest in Eastern finals history -- topping a 40-point win by the Celtics over Philadelphia in the 1982 conference finals. It was also the largest margin of victory in team playoff history. CLICK HERE to read full story.
Kyrie Irving rebounds from poor shooting game, helps Cavaliers turn Game 2 into rout

BOSTON -- Tyronn Lue kept saying it: He wasn't worried about Kyrie Irving's shooting struggles.
"He's a special player," the Cavaliers head coach said hours before Game 2. "With LeBron (James) playing the way he's been playing of late, we really haven't called Kyrie's number a lot lately. But he's primed and ready to go off at any time and we know that."
Mount Irving erupted early Friday night.
The Cavs' goal going into Game 2 was to once again set the tone, understanding the down-in-the-series Celtics were going to come out with a sense of desperation and the green-clad fans were going to be lively. - CLICK HERE to read full story.
