"CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cavaliers fired coach Mike Brown on Monday while naming David Griffin general manager in place of Chris Grant, who was fired on Feb. 6.

The appointment of Griffin, who will meet with the media at 11 a.m. Tuesday, had been expected, but Brown's firing was a bit of a shock, given that he had been re-hired just over a year ago. At the same time, the fact that Cavs owner Dan Gilbert failed to come out in support of his coach after the season indicated that his future with the team was not secure." - CLICK HERE to read full story.

"CLEVELAND, Ohio -- As new Cavaliers General Manager David Griffin looks for a new coach to replace Mike Brown, a name that may surface is Alvin Gentry.

Griffin is an admirer of Gentry, currently an assistant with the Los Angeles Clippers.

In the middle of the 2008-09 season, Gentry replaced Terry Porter as head coach in Phoenix.

The Suns were 18-13 under Gentry, averaging 117 points after he became the head coach.

In 2009-10, Gentry led the Suns to a 54-28 record and to the Western Conference Finals." - CLICK HERE to read full story.

"CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Three seasons ago, only three NBA teams averaged 100 points per game.

Two seasons ago, that number rose to 11 teams in the 100-point club.

This season, it was 17 teams scoring at least 100 points -- the Cavs under Mike Brown ranked 22nd at 98.2 points.

Yes, we have a trend racing in the direction of offense, and that's part of the reason that Brown was dismissed as the Cavs coach.

And that makes sense, given that David Griffin was promoted to the Cavaliers full-time general manager.

Since being named interim general manager in February, Griffin has often talked about "fit," as in how the players blend together. He also realized that NBA teams need to score, and they need to be entertaining." - CLICK HERE to read full story.
