CLEVELAND, OHIO -- Scribbles in my Cleveland Cavaliers notebook while waiting for Chauncey Billups to decide if he wants to be general manager:
1. I'm told the Indiana Pacers don't want Kevin Love, at least not right now. Their goal is young players and draft picks. They definitely want to trade Paul George. It would be a shock if they open the season with him on the roster. Indiana knows George will leave via free agency in the summer of 2018.
2. The Pacers did talk to the Los Angeles Lakers about a package starting with Brandon Ingram, but the 19-year-old forward is exactly the kind of athletic player Magic Johnson wants on his team. He averaged 9.4 points and 4.0 rebounds as a rookie last season. - CLICK HERE to read full story.
Buyouts for Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony could create brOhio partnership with LeBron James next season

While Cavaliers fans were watching their blockbuster trade hopes dashed during the NBA Draft on Thursday night, Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade were taking in spring menswear shows at Paris Fashion Week.
Perhaps a few more jackets suitable for Northeast Ohio might be in order.
The state of their franchises, Anthony’s New York Knicks and Wade’s Chicago Bulls, could soon make them buyout candidates. The Cavs will have no influence on their futures short of LeBron James lobbying his two close friends to join him in Cleveland if those buyouts are offered, but a “brOhio” partnership is possible before the 2018 playoffs begin. - CLICK HERE to read full story.
What a difference a year makes for Dan Gilbert, Cavs

The Cleveland Cavaliers are entering the final season of LeBron James' contract with front-office drama normally reserved for the NBA's most down-trodden organizations.
General manager David Griffin — the runner-up as the 2015 NBA Executive of the Year — was shown the door on Monday, June 19, 11 days before his contract was set to expire. Trent Redden, the Cavs' well-regarded senior vice president of basketball operations, also left the organization as it reportedly was deep in trade talks involving the likes of Paul George and Jimmy Butler.
The exits were "truly a mutual decision," a team source told Crain's, but the moves resulted in rare fan backlash aimed at Cavs owner Dan Gilbert. Nationally, the reactions were just as harsh, as an ESPN story said Gilbert's management style "vacillated between overbearing and absent." - CLICK HERE to read full story.
