"CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cavaliers coaching search came down to finalists David Blatt and Tyronn Lue. Three days after naming Blatt their head coach, the Cavaliers named Lue associate head coach on Monday.

"Over the past several weeks, it became clear that Ty could play a key role in our team's future success,'' general manager David Griffin said in a press release issued by the team. "Ty fits our culture and vision for the franchise. His successful experience as both a player and coach is going to help us tremendously.''

Lue, 37, played 11 seasons in the league, appearing in 554 career games with the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington, Orlando, Houston, Atlanta, Dallas and Milwaukee. The former University of Nebraska star played on the 2000 and 2001 Lakers teams that won NBA championships in 2000 and 2001. While Blatt has had a successful coaching career in Europe, he has never coached in the NBA so building a staff full of experienced assistants will be key." - CLICK HERE to read full story.
