Bob Finnan's NBA notes: Don't assume Cleveland Cavaliers will offer Kyrie Irving a maximum contract extension

It seemed like a foregone conclusion.

However, talk around the league is the Cavaliers might not offer two-time All-Star guard Kyrie Irving a maximum contract extension on July 1.

That would be a bit shocking after all we’ve heard up until this point. Many are worried Irving will bolt the first chance he gets. This would have been a vehicle to lock him up for possibly an additional five years.
