CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cleveland Cavaliers have kept another piece of their NBA championship team, re-signing veteran Richard Jefferson.
Per league and team policy, terms of the contract were not released. However, early reports had Jefferson agreeing to a two-year deal worth around $5 million, which would dip into part of Cleveland's taxpayer mid-level exception.

True to the announcement he made at the Cavaliers’ championship rally last month, Richard Jefferson is coming back for one more year.
Jefferson announced he was retiring immediately after the Cavs beat Golden State in Game 7 of the NBA Finals on June 19. But after a couple days to reflect, he decided he really wasn’t ready to quit.

The Cavaliers confirmed Thursday what Richard Jefferson announced on Snapchat on July 6: They’ve signed the 36-year-old small forward to a contract.
Terms weren’t disclosed, but Jefferson’s deal is for two years and $5 million.

The valuable veteran forward, who played a critical role in Cleveland winning an NBA championship this season, re-signed with the Cavaliers on Thursday.
Shortly after the Cavs rallied from a 3-1 deficit to stun the Golden State Warriors in the finals, Jefferson said he would be ending his long playing career on top.
