Separating fact from fiction when it comes to the Cleveland Cavaliers trading for Kevin Love
Author: Chris Fedor

"CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Ever since the Cleveland Cavaliers signed LeBron James, the team's rumor mill has been preoccupied with one player: Minnesota's Kevin Love. The Timberwolves are willing to field calls on the three-time NBA All-Star power forward who has made clear his interest in finding a new team in the final year of his contract.

Since I wrote my piece on the Cavs needing to trade for Love, I received a lot of feedback. Many people brought up strong points to counter. "Love's never been to the playoffs!" and "Cavs would not have a bench!" were two of the most frequent arguments.

What's too much? Do the Cavs have the best offer? Why would the Cavs have to give up Wiggins?" - CLICK HERE to read full story.

Jason Lloyd: As teams line up for Kevin Love, contract clocks could affect negotiations with Cavs
Author: Jason Lloyd
Publication: Akron Beacon Journal

"When the Cavaliers receive the paperwork on Andrew Wiggins’ signed contract, which is expected today, the clock on a tedious 30-day waiting period that could drastically alter the future of the franchise will officially begin ticking.

Forget about fantasies here. If the Cavs are going to consummate a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin Love — which many industry sources still believe is likely — they will have to include Wiggins. But until Wiggins’ contract is official, he holds zero monetary value in a deal that involves complicated rules involving the salary cap.

If the Cavs tried to include Wiggins in a Love deal before signing him, they’d have to get to about $12.5 million in outgoing salary, then stack Wiggins on top of it. That simply isn’t possible without losing key pieces such as Dion Waiters or Anderson Varejao, and the Cavs aren’t going to give one of those guys away, plus Anthony Bennett and Wiggins." - CLICK HERE to read full story.

Bob Finnan analysis: Kevin Love acquisition would increase Cavs' title chances
Author: Bob Finnan
Publication: The News-Herald/The Morning Journal

"For the sake of argument, let’s say the Cavaliers are able to trade for All-Star power forward Kevin Love.

They would presumably try to sign him to a three-year extension. He would undoubtedly ask for maximum dollars.

Do you have any idea what the Cavaliers’ salary cap would look like when guard Kyrie Irving’s max deal kicks in?

It would be a total mess. The Cavaliers would be forced to pay millions in luxury tax." - CLICK HERE to read full story.

LeBron's friends talk homecoming, legacy and being left in the dark
Author: Zac Jackson
Publication: FOX Sports Ohio

"AKRON, Ohio - LeBron James' friends read The Letter on July 11, too. And that's when they found out James was returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Even his oldest, closest friends. Even those who spent the week of The Decision, Part II, in Las Vegas with James.

Really.

"I didn't know," Dru Joyce III, James' teammate from elementary school through high school said. "I really didn't."
