Cavs Cool Heat to Close Summer Session

In the Wine and Gold’s Friday night finale at this year’s Summer League in Vegas, their back-to-back top picks – Anthony Bennett and Andrew Wiggins – took the night off and allowed some of the subs to shine. They did exactly that, and Cleveland featured five players in double-figures to close out the week in style – topping Miami, 95-90, to head home with a 4-1 mark.

Dwight Powell had 15 points and nine rebounds and the Cavaliers closed summer league with a 95-90 victory against the Miami Heat.

Anthony Bennett and Andrew Wiggins, both involved in trade rumors in recent days, did not play Friday, but the Cavs said before the game the plan all along was for them to only play in four games.

Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James' homecoming rally set for Aug. 8 at University of Akron

LeBron rally set for Aug. 8 at University of Akron

AKRON -- The LeBron James Family Foundation will stage a 'Welcome Home LeBron Community Rally" on Aug. 8 at InfoCision Stadium on the University of Akron campus, foundation officials announced Friday.

The rally is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. and is open to the public. It is part of the foundation's annual PROMISE Project Week. The LJFF will also be staging renovations to various properties in Akron on Aug. 2 and Aug. 10.
