LeBron James is the Eastern Conference Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- LeBron James was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the NBA-high 48th time in his career and for the third time this season Monday.

James averaged 27.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 2.25 steals in four games for the Cavaliers last week, all victories.

Golden State's Klay Thompson, who set an NBA record with 37 points in a single quarter Friday night, was named the Western Conference Player of the Week.

James has been red hot since returning from injury Jan. 13. In seven games -- six of them wins -- James is averaging 30.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists and shooting 51.4 percent. - CLICK HERE to read full story.

He is 6-foot-6, 220 pounds, a former NBA Sixth Man of the Year, a shooter and then shoot 'er again type of player.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- It was about three weeks ago when Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin addressed the media prior to a Sunday matinee game against the Dallas Mavericks. Griffin spoke on the state of the Cavaliers, an underachieving team at the time, and gave a vociferous defense of embattled head coach David Blatt.

The Cavs GM also revealed his wish list for the Cavs prior to February's trade deadline.
