INDEPENDENCE, Ohio – The muted tones from the Cavaliers' postgame "celebration" Sunday were still mostly prevalent following practice on Tuesday, the team's first since learning Kevin Love was probably gone for the postseason and J.R. Smith was suspended for the first two games of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

In the immediate aftermath of Cleveland's 103-95 victory over Boston, which completed a first-round sweep, nary a smile was cracked. The Cavs felt Love's shoulder dislocation was potentially serious and Smith was probably going to miss some games for crashing his first into Jae Crowder's face.

Both premonitions proved true, and the team led by LeBron James must find a way to move forward from all the bad news as it prepares for Game 1 against either the Chicago Bulls or Milwaukee Bucks on Monday. - CLICK HERE to read full story.

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio – The worst possible scenario at this juncture is a reality: Kevin Love is presumably out for the remainder of the NBA postseason, Cavaliers general manager David Griffin said Tuesday afternoon.

"I want to make it clear that's highly unlikely," Griffin said of Love returning during the playoffs from a dislocated left shoulder. "The damage to his shoulder is extensive. This is not a situation where we're expecting he will be available for any of this and we're in the process of gathering information in terms of what the exact, right, next steps are and every option is on the table."

If one hadn’t been to a lot of Cavaliers practices over the season, it’d be easy to label the prevailing mood at Cleveland Clinic Courts on Tuesday afternoon as somber. And, granted, there wasn’t the usual playful post-practice scuttlebutt.

But upon further review, you’d be better off describing the team’s mood after learning of Kevin Love and J.R. Smith’s fate as resolute, businesslike, pragmatic and even a little bit defiant.

After wrapping up their first practice after polishing off the Celtics in four games, and facing the very real possibility of losing their starting power forward for the remainder of the postseason, Cavs GM David Griffin summarized the situation. - CLICK HERE to read full story.
