The Optimist

The Optimist
(2-6)
Hello, Cleveland. The Optimist here.

Alright, I've taken my lumps since predicting an 82-0 season for the Cavaliers. My subsequent research has revealed that hardly any team in history has been able to go 82-0. Live and Learn. That's what the Optimist does.

Tonight our beloved Cavaliers travel to Boston to take on the Celtics and their new white shoes. White shoes on the Celtics is an abomination; a crime against nature. It's like Red Auerbach puffing on a victory Virginia Slim, a brunette Larry Bird or replacing the parquet with linoleum.

But it'll take more than uniform gimmicks to top the Kid Cavaliers. Sure, Paul Pierce is one of the best power forwards on the planet and Vin Baker is new and improved. But Boston's bench is weak and unless they can channel Cornbread Maxwell circa 1981, look for the Celtics second unit to be topped by our supreme second-team seven-footers, DeSagana Diop and Chris Mihm.

EDITOR'S NOTE
After struggling at the outset of the season, The Optimist has taken two of his last three games (.666). His record for the year currently stands at 2-6 (.250).
The Cavaliers should come off their Heat hangover in a surly mood. Look for Ricky Davis to bounce back from his poor performance and drop 30 on Boston as the Wine and Gold gets well on the road.

TONIGHT'S PREDICTION: The Cavaliers get back in the win column. I see Cleveland winning this one going away: Cavaliers 111, Celtics 98.
