In three games during the week, James averaged 29.7 points on .547 (35-64) shooting to go along with 9.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.0 steal per game as he helped lead the Cavaliers to a perfect 3-0 week. At Philadelphia on Nov. 19, James posted his fifth career triple-double with 36 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists as the Cavaliers came away with a 123-120 win. He scored 13 of his 36 points in the fourth quarter and helped rally Cleveland from a 16-point-third quarter deficit in Philadelphia. On Nov. 15, James set his season high in scoring with 37 points and grabbed 10 rebounds vs. Washington as Cleveland posted a 114-99 win at The Q.
It marks the fourth time that James has won the award in his career. He is the only player in franchise history to win the Player of the Week Award more than twice. He won it last season for the weeks ending Nov. 14, 2004, November 28, 2004 and January 23, 2005.
The Los Angeles Clippers’ Elton Brand was named Western Conference Player of the Week. Other nominees for Eastern Conference Player of the Week were Cavaliers’ teammate Larry Hughes, Toronto’s Chris Bosh, Philadelphia’s Allen Iverson, Miami’s Dwyane Wade and Orlando’s Dwight Howard.
