Ride of a Lifetime on the Goodyear Blimp

CLEVELAND, OH - February 24th, 2009 - Cavaliers and Lake Erie Monsters fans will be given the chance to win a ride of a lifetime as passengers on the Goodyear blimp thanks to a new partnership with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. The flights on the famous airship will be part of each team’s approach to offer fans and clients exciting experiential opportunities in a variety of creative promotional campaigns.

Since 1925, Goodyear blimps have adorned the skies as very visible corporate icons to one of the world’s largest tire and rubber companies that began operations in 1898. Yet, a ride on the six passenger airship is an exclusive invitation that not many have the opportunity to experience.

The first flight is part of the Cavaliers 2009-10 season ticket renewal campaign “30 Prizes in 30 Days” that begins February 26th through March 27th. Those who renew online at cavs.com/mvp will automatically be entered into a daily drawing to win one of 30 great prizes and experiences. A ride for four on the Goodyear blimp is a featured prize for the “Grand Prize Fridays” where the daily drawing winner will be eligible to choose from one of eight once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that also includes a private dinner with Cavaliers General Manager Danny Ferry, a “Chalk Talk” with the Cavaliers coaching staff and a game of H-O-R-S-E with a Cavs player. Blimp rides will also be offered in the Monsters renewal campaign, on fan appreciation night for both teams and enter-to-win contests.
