Game Summary

The Wine and Gold face division foe the Indiana Pacers tonight at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Tipoff is at 7:00 p.m. ET.

The Cavs look to bounce back after falling to the Charlotte Bobcats, 90-84, last night despite 22 points from C.J. Miles off the bench.

Tristan Thompson recorded his first double-double of the season with 21 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Through two games, Thompson is averaging 19.5 points and 10 rebounds on .583 shooting from the field.

Indiana comes into tonight's contest boasting a 2-0 record thanks to a comeback victory on Wednesday in New Orleans. The Pacers trailed by as many as 18 points in the second half, but rallied to shoot 61 percent in a 36-point fourth quarter to complete the rally and grab a 95-90 win against the Pelicans.

All-Star forward Paul George leads Indiana and on the young season is averaging 19.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists.

Head-to-Head Matchup

Cleveland is 82-87 all-time against Indiana including a 52-34 record while playing playing in their own arena (30-53 on the road).

In the two teams' last regular season matchup on April 9th, Tyler Zeller notched 18 points despite the Wine and Gold falling, 99-94, at The Q. The Cavs and Pacers met during this past preseason as rookie Anthony Bennett recorded a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds) off the bench.

Key to the Game/Key Matchup

Key to the Game

Ball Movement

Indiana has one of the best defenses in the entire league. With long, quick defenders on the perimeter and physical, big bodies clogging the paint, the Pacers make it difficult for teams to get good shots.

In their first game of the season, Indiana set a franchise home record with 18 blocked shots while holding the Orlando Magic to 38.7 percent shooting.

Cleveland did a superb job of sharing the rock in their opening night victory on Wednesday as six different Cavaliers scored in double figures thanks to 21 assists as a team.

The Wine and Gold must continue to share the basketball and utilize good ball movement to create open looks at the hoop.

Key Matchup

Cavs Swingmen vs. Paul George

As mentioned, Indiana's leader Paul George can do a little bit of everything. The 2012-13 Most Improved Player of Year has length and athleticism and can dominate the game at both ends of the floor.

Having an equally long and athletic defender on George is one of the main reasons the Wine and Gold went out and signed 6-10 forward Earl Clark this past offseason. Clark is currently tied for third on the Cavaliers in rebounding at 5.5 boards per game.

Fortunately for the Cavaliers, they have the luxury of throwing another premier perimeter defender at George in Alonzo Gee. Since Gee joined the Wine and Gold in the 2010-11 Season, he has been the Cavs go-to defender taking on everyone from point guards to power forwards.

If Clark and Gee can slow down George and hold him at or below his season averages, then it will give Cleveland a distinct advantage tonight.
