Five Keys: Cavaliers vs. Grizzlies ‑ Dec. 21, 2014
1 / 5It seems like almost every game is a matchup of top point guards, but the league is in an unprecedented era of that particular position. Sunday is no different as Kyrie Irving takes on former Buckeye standout Mike Conley – possibly the most underrated of the league’s glut of lead guards. Conley is having one the best offensive seasons of his brilliant eight-year career, averaging 17.8 points while shooting a career-best .456 overall and .404 from beyond the arc while leading the Grizzlies in assists at 6.2 apg. Kyrie is coming off a 16-point effort on Friday night and has averaged 26.3 ppg in four career meetings with Memphis – (including 28 in Cleveland’s Feb. 9 victory – his second-highest scoring total against any opponent. Once again, the winner of the point guard matchup will go a long way towards determining who wins the ballgame itself.
