NEW YORK, NY - April 1, 2010 - The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Kia Motors America today announced that, for the first time ever, fans will have the opportunity to help determine the winner of the NBA Most Valuable Player award presented by Kia Motors.

Through a dedicated Web page on NBA.com, fans can submit their votes for MVP, ranking their top five choices. The combined fan vote will count as one vote, with the remaining 122 votes coming from a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada. Fans can cast their MVP votes from April 1 through 15 on NBA.com (NBA.com/KiaMVPFanVote). The 2009-10 NBA Most Valuable Player of the Year Award presented by Kia Motors will be announced following the conclusion of the 2009-10 NBA regular season.

As the Official Automotive Partner of the NBA, Kia Motors is giving fans the chance to enter the Kia Motors MVP Sweepstakes by logging on to NBA.com/awards. The grand prize for the sweepstakes is an all-new 2011 Kia Sorento CUV, the Official Vehicle of the NBA, and a trip to The Finals, where the lucky winner and a guest will watch the game with two of the greatest NBA Most Valuable Player award recipients of all time, Julius Erving (winner 1980-81) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (winner 1970-71, 1971-72, 1973-74, 1975-76, 1976-77, 1979-80).
