In an effort to provide relief to those victims on the East Coast, the McCormick Tribune Foundation has established a national Disaster Relief Fund. The foundation will match the first $5 million raised nationwide at 50 cents on the dollar.
The Cavs/Gund Arena Company will join in this fund-raising effort by establishing the CAVS DISASTER RELIEF FUND, A FUND OF THE MCCORMICK TRIBUNE FOUNDATION. Individuals can donate directly in one of the following ways:
Visit www.cavs.com and
donate on-line
Stop by the Gund Arena box office and donate at one of the ticket windows.
By phoning Toll-Free at 800-999-9005
Mail check or money order payable to Cavs Disaster Relief Fund, Gund Arena, One Center Court, Cleveland, OH 44115.
All money raised will go directly to support agencies providing disaster relief assistance to the victims and family members who suffered from the tragedies on Tuesday, September 11th. 100% of the donations -and the match- will be granted to relief agencies and no portion of the donations will be used for administrative costs.
Grants are made from the Disaster Relief Fund in response to applications from organizations with 501(c)(3) status providing services to and addressing the needs of victims of the terrorist acts in New York City and Washington DC, and their families. Priority will be given to programs providing services directly to victims and their families. Secondary priority will be given to community-wide programs. No funds will be granted directly to individuals. The Disaster Relief Fund does not make grants that financially benefit Tribune Company, Cavs or any of its subsidiaries.
