CLEVELAND, Mar. 22nd - The Plain Dealer has teamed up with the Cavaliers to present a month-long, market-wide program that offers fans the opportunity to collect a series of 18 silver medallions featuring the images of 15 current players, head coach Mike Brown, team mascot Moondog, plus a special Cavs 1986-87 commemorative medallion. These medallions will be housed in a collector’s album that will feature photography and text about the Cavaliers. Upon completion, the unique set, which is an officially licensed Cavaliers and NBA collection, will be a valuable keepsake for any fan.

The medallions are encapsulated and presented sealed on a backing card. The collectors album is a full-color, glossy album with content on the team and players, plus a board with a special place for each medallion.

The Cavaliers 2007 Medallion Collection program will launch at the Sunday, March 25th Cavs vs. Denver game, when 10,000 Medallion Collection Albums will be given away to fans. The next Sunday, April 1st, The Plain Dealer will run a coupon for readers to clip and take to one of approximately 400 participating retail locations to redeem their FREE collection album.

Beginning Monday, April 2nd through April 22nd, The Plain Dealer will run a coupon each day for a specific medallion. Along with the clipped coupon, fans can purchase the designated medallion for that day for only $2.99 (plus tax) at the retail locations. Medallions are not available for sale until the coupon is published and are only available while supplies last. The Plain Dealer will also run bonus coupons during the promotion that will enable fans to purchase any medallion they may have missed.
