Cavs’ Celebrate Orange Power with 1986 Draft Cap Giveaway

CLEVELAND, Mar. 19th - Fans attending the nationally broadcast Cavaliers vs. Dallas Mavericks game (ESPN, 8:00 p.m.) on Wednesday, March 21st at The Q will receive a free retro orange Cavs cap, which is a replica of the one the team presented to Brad Daugherty when he was made the #1 overall NBA Draft pick in 1986. Fans are asked to wear the bright orange draft cap, courtesy of FSN Ohio as a sign of ORANGE POWER as the Cavs make their run into the playoffs against the team with the NBA’s best record.

On the court, the players will comply by wearing their retro orange uniforms for the fourth of six Hardwood Classics games that will celebrate the Cavaliers 1986-87 season. The Q will be on fire and ablaze in orange for the only home court match up against the Mavericks.

The Hardwood Classics game will remember when Daugherty was selected by Cavaliers General Manager Wayne Embry and Head Coach Lenny Wilkens, who also acquired Ron Harper and Mark Price in the same draft. Along with Hot Rod Williams and Craig Ehlo, the 1986-87 squad became the nucleus of team that would rekindle Cleveland’s passion for basketball, challenge for Eastern Conference supremacy in seven of the next eight years and represent the Golden Era of Cavaliers Basketball.

Each of the Hardwood Classics Nights will take fans down that memory lane with in-game tributes and special giveaways. Tickets are available by calling 1-800-820-CAVS.
