CLEVELAND, OH - November 8, 2010 - The Cleveland Cavaliers vs. New Jersey Nets game on Wednesday, November 10th at 7:30 p.m. will be a night of honor, giving and charity. The Cavs will honor our nation’s service men and women with Military Salute Night , give away collector’s packs of Cavs Bands presented by KeyBank, and make a charitable donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society from ticket sales through “Pack The Q for the Cause.”

Cavs to Honor Nation’s Troops With Military Salute Night
In honor of Veterans Day, the Cleveland Cavaliers and USO of Northern Ohio will dedicate Military Salute Night to the men and women who have served, or are still serving, in the United States Armed Forces by recognizing them with special tributes throughout the game.

In a pre-game ceremony, 20 enlistees from all branches will take the oath of enlistment into the United States Armed Forces. A joint color guard will present the colors for the national anthem to be performed by U.S. Army Specialist Chanel Curry. Throughout the game, fans can write a special message to the troops on a giant banner on the main concourse that will be later displayed at the USO of Northern Ohio.

In-game tributes will include photo and video dedications to Ohio’s troops and a halftime ceremony to recognize the families of six Ohio military units currently deployed. In addition to patriotic performances by the Cavalier Girls, Scream Team, and Moondog, members of the military and their families will be participants for the ever-popular in-game contests.

As part of Military Salute night, PostEgram is partnering with the Cleveland Cavaliers to give away 1,000 three-month subscriptions of its printed family newsletter to USO military families. PostEgram keeps those serving overseas connected with their families by using a loved one’s Facebook account to share news and photos with the soldier.
