Cavaliers Players Daniel Gibson, J.J. Hickson, Leon Powe and Legend Austin Carr to Exchange Autographs for a New Childrens Book Donation

CLEVELAND, OH - March 9, 2010 - Cavaliers players Daniel Gibson, J.J. Hickson, Leon Powe and Cavs Legend Austin Carr will sign autographs for fans who donate a new children’s book to benefit the Cavs Read to Achieve program this Saturday, March 13th at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Legacy Village. Through Read to Achieve, the Cleveland Cavaliers will distribute over 5,000 donated books to schools and students in the northeast Ohio community throughout the 2009-10 school year.

There will be TWO autograph sessions located in front of the store’s rock wall
  • Gibson and Hickson will sign from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
  • Powe and Carr will sign from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Read to Achieve, presented by Time Warner Cable in association with CollegeAdvantage A 529 Savings Plan and Outback Steakhouse, is a year-round campaign designed to help young people develop a life-long love for reading and encourage adults to read regularly with children. The program reaches thousands of elementary, middle and high school students in Northeast Ohio through reading time-outs, book drives and donations and the construction of Reading & Learning Centers.
