Canton, OH-Sept. 19 - Cleveland Cavaliers star guard and Canton, Ohio native Eric Snow, who is known for using hand signals to set up LeBron James and his Cavaliers teammates, gave a big “thumbs-up” and a smile at the conclusion of his 2nd Annual Celebrity Golf Outing and Silent Auction last week. The 12-year NBA veteran and team co-captain had just heard the news from his golf outing coordinator, Alexandria Johnson Boone of GAP Communications, that his golf outing event had collected over $85,000 in donations.

“Obviously, I am very inspired at the way people came out to support this event. I was not sure if the excitement from the opening of the Browns season would keep people away. But we completely sold out the event and we had incredible weather for a terrific day of golf,” says Snow.

For the second year in a row, Snow chose the Walden Country Inn and Country Club in Aurora, Ohio as the course for his golf outing and the over 145 golfers. The event actually began Sunday night September 10th with a celebrity reception and the silent auction of a large array of autographed merchandise and other donated items. As part of the reception, golfers, corporate sponsors, and supporters had a chance for photos, autographs, and ultimately, the opportunity to bid on playing with sports celebrities such as Theo Ratliff (Boston Celtics), Charlie Bell (Milwaukee Bucks), Greg Anthony (ESPN NBA analyst), Kevin Mack (former Browns All-Pro), and former model and movie actress Kathleen Bradley, who, like Snow, hails from the Northeast Ohio area.

“It was great to see so many celebrities and some of my good NBA friends come out. To have NBA legends like Jojo White (Boston Celtics), Austin Carr, Sedric Toney, Campy Russell (Cavaliers) and Brad Sellers (Chicago Bulls) join me again along with teammates Ira (Newble), “Z” (Zydrunas Ilgauskus), and newcomer David Wesley, along with Charlie Bell, Anthony Johnson (Dallas Mavericks) and “G.A.” (Greg Anthony) was really special,” says Snow.

Another major celebrity highlight included the special arrival of Eddie Levert and Walter Williams, two members of the Grammy Award-winning group, The O'Jay’s. Levert and Williams are also hometown heroes from Canton and decided to make a last-minute surprise visit to support Snow at the outing. “Eric is one of our own. A few years ago, he came out and supported our event so we felt strongly that we would come out and give him a helping hand. He is a good young man and is one of the best that Canton has ever produced,” said Eddie Levert.

Proceeds from the golf outing will benefit programs from Snow’s Shoot 4 the Moon Foundation, which has as its mission to encourage, reward, and support organizations that assist fathers in making positive contributions to their families and communities throughout Northeast Ohio and the Greater Atlanta, Georgia regions.
