FINAL - MIN 124, CLE 95 ... The Cavaliers were thoroughly beaten on Wednesday night in Minnesota, with Mike Brown emptying his bench after three quarters. Kyrie Irving led Cleveland with 20 points in 27 minutes. Anderson Varejao added 13 points and Tristan Thompson finished with 10 points and six boards.

End 3Q - MIN 108, CLE 76 ... Might have seen the last of the starters for the evening. Cavs closed quarter with Dellavedova, Zeller, Karasev, Bennett and Jack on the floor. No need to belabor the stats again. MIN beating Cavs in all categories. Even though Cavs came home for Saturday's game v. Philly, they look like a team that's road-weary and needing some home-cookin' at The Q. Kyrie with 20 pts, Andy, 13 pts, Tristan, 10.

Some first half highlights ...

3:45, 3Q - MIN 95, CLE 64 ... Long night for the Wine and Gold. Minnesota's blown this thing open; Cavs call timeout after K. Love 3-pointer. He and Brewer combined 53 pts. MIN dominating in all phases -- fastbreak, 25-2; points in paint, 48-22; rebounds, 32-20.

End 1H - MIN 70, CLE 47 ... Cavs will need a moment of reflection after that tough first half. Hate to point out a bad stat, but the Wolves have scored 101 pts on CLE over the last three quarters. MIN shooting 63 pct in 1H, lead in fast break points, 22-0, beating Cavs on boards, 25-12, and Ricky Rubio already has a double-double, 12 pts, 10 asst. Kyrie leads CLE w/11 pts, Tristan w/10. Cavs will need a comeback like the T-Wolves attempted on them at The Q to get out of MIN with a win.

6:51, 2Q - MIN 55, CLE 31 ... Stat that tells the story so far: fastbreak points -- MIN 20, CLE 0

10:29, 2Q - MIN 41, CLE 24 ... Kyrie took a shot to the "nose area" -- x-rays were negative and he's back in the ballgame.

End 1Q - MIN 37, CLE 24 ... Irving and Waiters have combined for 11 of Cavs' 24 pts, but Mike Brown can't be happy about a 37-point 1Q, w/MIN shooting 59 pct & 16 fastbreak points. Anthony Bennett scored off an offensive rebound/putback, good to see. Could be the night the rookie breaks through. Clark gets first action in last three games, hits his first 3-pointer.

2:57, 1Q - MIN 27, CLE 17 ... Kyrie Irving's back from the locker room. Earl Clark checks in, moments after Bennett and CJ Miles.

4:48, 1Q - MIN 20, CLE 16 ... Waiting for replay, but Kyrie took a shot to the face defending Corey Brewer on a fastbreak. He's up and walking back to the Cavs locker room. Looks like he took one in the chops -- has a towel over his mouth. Jarrett Jack checks in for Irving.

5:46, 1Q - MIN 16, CLE 11 ... Shaping up to be a fun battle between Kyrie and Rubio -- Irving w/6 early pts; Rubio w/3 early assists; Waiters with 5 pts, Corey Brewer leads everyone w/9 pts; MIN already w/6 fast break pts. Mike Brown also hinted pregame that he'd like to work Earl Clark -- off two straight DNP-CDs -- back into the rotation.

Pregame - The Cavaliers will be without center Andrew Bynum on Wednesday after he was excused by the team after yesterday's practice at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago to fly home to attend to a family medical matter. He'll be back for the Cavs matchup with the Wizards on Saturday in D.C.

For the T-Wolves, Zanesville's Kevin Martin -- who led them in scoring in the two teams' last meeting at The Q on Nov. 4 -- will be out tonight with the dreaded flu-like symptoms.

Starters for the Cavs tonight are G Irving, G Waiters, F Gee, F Thompson, C Varejao. For the T-Wolves, it's G Rubio, G Brewer, F Hummel, F Love and C Pekovic.
