Cavaliers at Heat

FINAL MIA 114, CLE 107 ... The World Champs won this one, but they know they were in a fight. After going up by 19 points, the Cavaliers battled back to take a five-point lead midway through the fourth quarter. But the Heat pulled ahead and pulled away, handing the Wine and Gold the seven-point loss on South Beach. Kyrie Irving led the Cavs with 19 points; Dion Waiters added 16 off the bench.

:22, 4Q MIA 110, CLE 105 ... Jack hits a pair of FT and LeBron splits a pair, Andy scored on a layup with Allen headed to the line. Cavs need a big finish to cap this upset.

1:36, 4Q MIA 109, CLE 101 ... Chalmers' 3-pointer puts the Cavs in a tough spot, MIA on a 7-1 run after timeout; Jack, Thompson back on the floor.

3:24, 4Q MIA 102, CLE 100 ... It's back and forth now; LeBron gives Miami the lead back; Waiters heating up again, now with 16 pts, 5-11 FG, been going aggressively to the hoop.

7:24, 4Q CLE 95, MIA 91 ... Cavaliers are taking it right to the Heat, have outscored them, 15-7, so far in 4Q and Wade's getting frustrated, just barked at Delly, the guy Varejao called the team's "peet bull"; Waiters, Jack, Clark, all with 12 pts off the bench; Kyrie leads CLE w/17 pts.

9:48, 4Q MIA 89, CLE 88 ... Cavs came out ready to rumble in the 4Q -- Earl Clark cans a 3pt from top, Dion from deep in the corner in front of MIA bench, Spoelstra calls TO; Clark now with 12 pts off bench; Cavs have outscored Miami, 36-21 in the second half; second unit coming up big again.

End 3Q MIA 84, CLE 80 ... Cavs not going away, outscore Miami, 28-16, in 3Q. Ray Allen stymied a couple Cavalier runs with 3-pointers, but the Big 3 was pretty quiet in the third; Jarrett Jack, 5-9 FG, now w/10 pts off bench; Kyrie, 17 pts, Tristan, 16, Gee, 10; Gee rimmed-out a 3-pt attempt from ther corner that could've tied the game. Could be a fun 4th ...

2:49, 3Q MIA 81, CLE 73 ... Cavs chipping away at what was a 19-point Miami lead; Tristan brought great energy out of the locker room, Cavaliers starting to click, cut it to five, but Ray Allen hits a trey to put Miami back up 8; Kyrie, 17 pts, 3 asst, 4 steals; Tristan, 16 pts, 7 reb; Gee, 10 pts, doing a solid job on LeBron.

6:41, 3Q MIA 76, CLE 67 ... Cavaliers starting to make a nice run here, capping by a nice FB dunk by Gee; Tristan (now w/15 pts, 9 in 3Q) going right at Bosh and Rashard Lewis in the block, aggressiveness has been contagious; Kyrie w/14 pts; Cavs on a 6-3 mini-run.

End 1H MIA 68, CLE 52 ... Sorry for the delay. Experiencing technical difficulties during the first half. MIA's big three doing the damage -- Wade leads everyone w/20 pts - 7-8 FG, 6-7 FG; LeBron, 15, Bosh, 18, rest of team, 15. Kyrie leads CLE w/11 ptsl Waiters w/7 off the bench; Cavs shooting an even 50 pct, but haven't had an answer for Big 3 with three days off -- shooting combined 21-26 FG. (LeBron hasn't missed in six attempts.) Jim Boylan takes over for Mike Brown, who got double-T'd in the first half.

Pregame - The Cavaliers come to Miami riding a season-high three-game win streak and are 5-1 over their last six contests. Cleveland is holding opponents to an average of 94.2 points on .433 (227-524) shooting from the field over that stretch.

The Cavs bench has been strong all season and outsocred the Magic reserves, 60-28, last night. They held a similar advantage over Miami in their last meeting with the Heat, 58-32, with Dion Waiters again leading the charge. He netted 24 points off the bench in that 95-84 loss. Dion scored 16 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter of Friday's win over Orlando.
