Cavs Nation Poll

Which position has the most depth for the Cavaliers coming into the 2012-13 season?

- Floor Generals

Kyrie Irving spearheads this group, and as Cavs Nation saw this preseason, Donald Sloan and Jeremy Pargo are both willing and capable of running the second unit.

Both SLOAN and PARGO bring a grittiness and toughness to the position and can attack the paint as Head Coach Byron Scott alludes to in this INTERVIEW (6:27 mark).

With the backups and Irving poised for another great season, the Wine and Gold have a solid group of floor generals ready to run Coach Scott’s fast-paced offense.

- Wing Players

Head Coach Byron Scott hasn't announced his starting lineup for Opening Night yet, due in large part to the newly acquired depth at the two and three positions.

General Manager Chris Grant made it a point this offseason to sure up the Cavaliers wing players by DRAFTING DION WAITERS with the fourth overall pick, going out and getting C.J. MILES IN FREE-AGENCY and RE-SIGNING ALONZO GEE.

Add veterans Daniel Gibson and Omri Casspi into the mix and the Wine and Gold have the luxury of throwing in plenty of players whom can spread the floor with the shooting and fill the lanes out on the break.

- Big Men

Young, athletic and active. All perfect attributes for big men in a high-tempo style of play.

If you look at the Wine and Gold big men expected to be in the rotation, they all possess these attributes. Anderson Varejao’s LEADERSHIP AND MOTOR trickles down to youngsters Tristan Thompson, Samardo Samuels and Tyler Zeller.

Byron Scott has the capability and flexibility to mix and match based upon this group’s versatility, something Kyrie Irving has COMMENTED ON (1:02 mark). Yet another good problem for Scott as he prepares to set his starting lineup.
