Here at cavs.com, we asked readers to write Cavaliers resident free spirit, Scot Pollard, with their questions -- even if they are about basketball. Thankfully, hardly any of them were, so Scot took a moment to answer his mailbox.

Comments: Scot, did you start varsity basketball as a freshman?
First Name: Tyler
City: Sunbury
State: Ohio
Scot Pollard: No, I didn’t. When I went to school, Tyler, they had a rule where freshmen played freshman ball and you couldn’t play varsity until your sophomore season. Even though as a freshman, I was 6-6.
Comments: What’s the best way to get rid of a raccoon? One is tearing up my garbage every night.
First Name: Drew
City: A-Town
State: Ohio
SP: The best way to keep a raccoon out of your trash is to put food all around your trash cans so it just eats the food around the cans.
Just make sure whatever food you leave around doesn’t have a wrapper on it because raccoons are notoriously sloppy eaters and will just make a mess and not throw the wrappers into the garbage. And make sure it’s some sort of fatty or high-fiber food so it’s enough to fill up an entire raccoon family.
Or you can just get trash can lids.
Comments: Hey dude, who's your favorite Cosby and why? Mine is Theo because he has a sweet box fade.
First Name: Sick Sister
City: Akron
State: OH
SP: Actually, I used to have a crush on Mrs. Huxtable. I always thought she was kind of hot.
Comments: I am not trying to get really personal but I am dying to know something: Have you ever created something in the bathroom that you called your friends into the bathroom to look at? Thank you.
First Name: Rachelle
City: Columbus
State: OH
SP: Wow! This is a question from a girl?!! That’s impressive!
No, I’ve never called friends in to look at something I made in the bathroom. But I have called family members in when I was younger, and – come to think of it – even now, when I’m older. “Check it out! I can’t believe that came out of me!” But really I’m just impressed that a girl asked me that. How great! Who says things aren’t equaling out for both genders in the 21st Century?!
Comments: What is your take on the rule about leaving the bench when a fight breaks out?
First Name: Joe
City: Avon
State: Ohio
SP: I think it sucks.
One time, Bobby Jackson and Tracy McGrady got into it when I was playing for Sacramento and we were in Orlando. I stepped on the court – simply to get a better view. It was obvious on tape that I was not rushing towards the altercation and they even said that on the phone when I talked to NBA Security the next morning.
But they said the rule is that during a fight, you can’t leave the bench area. I put one foot on the court and they fined me $5000 and suspended me for a game – which costs a lot more than $5000.
So I think the rule completely sucks. I wasn’t trying to get in on the action; I was just trying to see what was going on. But I wasn’t close to the action. I wasn’t trying to incite any action.
Comments: I have a question for you, Mr.Pollard. What has been your favorite arena to play in college and pro? Thanks.
First Name: David
City: Windham
State: Ohio
SP: My favorite college arena is Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas. If you ever get a chance to watch a game there, I highly recommend it.
And in the pros, Arco Arena was my favorite. And you people are going to hate me for saying this, but one of my favorites now is the Palace. They have a great crowd and it’s a very menacing place to play. That’s an intense homecourt atmosphere.
You have to include Dallas and Miami as well, just because they have so many pretty people in the building. I mean, they have men in those arenas that are really good-looking.
The Staples Center used to be cool but now it’s too quiet – it’s like a church in there, except when they boo me. They hate me there.
Comments: My buddy does a form of high-five called an "arm bar" where you just lock arms together over the shoulder. I've seen D-Marshall and E-Snow do this a few times on TV. I think it's dumb compared to conventional methods of showing love to a teammate. Your thoughts?
First Name: Clay
City: Largo
State: FL
SP: They have a different name for it on this team, and I don’t know if I’m at liberty to discuss it. I’ve been involved in one, but I wouldn’t say I regularly take part in it. I’m personally trying to bring back the dorky “High Ten.” Not the “High Five” – mind you. The dorky “High Ten.”
Like, “Great play, Tom Chambers! High Ten!” or “High Ten, Jon Koncak!!”
That would be sweet.
