Cleveland's Hope Academy West Receives High Marks

from Cavaliers and Westfield Insurance

More Than 1000 Local Northeast Ohio Students
Submitted Perfect Report Cards for 2012-13 Academic Year

Each grading period, the Cavs and Westfield Insurance reward students for high scholastic achievement through the Straight “A” All-Stars program. Open to students in grades K-8 who reside in Cuyahoga, Lorain, Summit, Medina, Portage, Geauga, Lake and Ashtabula counties, the Cavs randomly select 300 entrants who have achieved straight “A”s to receive two (2) tickets to a home game and honorary Straight “A” All-Star t-shirt.

Cleveland’s Hope Academy West was the school who had the most Straight “A” All-Star students submit their report cards and on Thursday, March 21st, the Cavs and Westfield Insurance hosted an assembly at the school for students K-4, featuring Cavs mascots Moondog and Sir C.C., in-arena host Ahmaad and the Cavaliers Scream Team. All other students at the school (grades 5-8) received two tickets to a home Cavs game.

As an added surprise, Hope Academy West Principal William Byrd and Laurie McGraw, the teacher with the most Straight “A” All-Star students in one class, were presented with a giant check for $1,000 by the Cavaliers and Westfield Insurance.

All entrants who participated in this year’s program received an official Cavaliers Straight “A” All-Stars certificate and book cover.
