CLEVELAND, OH - May 10, 2010 - Customers stopping for lunch at the McDonald’s on Carnegie Ave. in Cleveland on Monday afternoon got more than a happy meal, they got a super-sized surprise courtesy of the Cavaliers and Kia Motors. Their lunch tab was picked up as part of the Cavs and Kia’s "Kindness In Action" outreach program that focuses on benefitting those in the community who could use a little assist.

From 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., while the Cavalier Girls manned the drive thru taking orders and informing customers that they were getting a free lunch, Scream Team members passed out complimentary Frappes courtesy of McDonald’s to diners inside the restaurant. To offer some lunchtime hospitality, Ronald McDonald and Cavaliers in-arena host Ahmaad Crump mingled with the surprised and appreciative patrons.

The Cavs and Kia "Kindness In Action" initiative will be on-going during the playoffs offering random acts of generosity targeted towards those in need in economically depressed areas of the community. "Teaming up with Kia to do something positive for those who are underserved in the community is an important part of our partnership," said Cavaliers Director of Community Relations Colleen Garrity. "When we add the power of surprise, it makes it as much fun to receive as it feels good to give."

Kia Motors America is a proud partner of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
