Cleveland, Dec. 20 – To celebrate the spirit of the holiday season, the Cleveland Cavaliers made a special visit on Monday afternoon to bring some holiday cheer to the young patients at The Children’s Hospital at The Cleveland Clinic. The entire Cavaliers team of players and coaches spent their time with the children by engaging in several Christmas-time activities and enjoying the festive atmosphere of the holiday season.
The players rotated to different activity stations where they sat with the young patients to decorate stockings, make ornaments and cards, and decorate cookies. Players also read Christmas stories and distributed presents to the children. Lots of smiles and warm wishes were exchanged between all of those who attended amidst the background sounds of a local trio of Christmas carolers.
Close to 50 children and their parents were in attendance with Cavaliers team members that included LeBron James, Drew Gooden, Jeff McInnis, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Eric Snow, Ira Newble, Robert Traylor, Lucious Harris, Scott Williams, Luke Jackson, Anderson Varejao, Sasha Pavlovic, Dejuan Wagner and Desagana Diop along with coach Paul Silas, assistant coaches Stephen Silas, Kenny Natt and Brendan Malone.
The Cavaliers team visit to The Children's Hospital at The Cleveland Clinic has become an annual tradition that began over 10 years ago.
