Harvest for Hunger
Join the Cavaliers and Walgreens as we team up with Harvest for Hunger to feed the hungry in our community! Show your support by bringing canned foods and non-perishable items to the Cavaliers’ home games fromTuesday, March 12th through Friday, March 29th or to one of the 67 Walgreens’ locations in the Cleveland and Akron areas.
What is Harvest for Hunger?
Harvest for Hunger is an annual, 21-county food and funds drive and is one of the largest in the country. In 2012, Northeast Ohioans contributed over $3.7 million and more than 405,000 pounds of food, providing enough food for over 15 million meals. The Cleveland Foodbank organizes the campaign in partnership with three other food banks in Northeast and North Central Ohio. The food and funds raised support food pantries, hot meal programs and shelters throughout the region.
What food items are needed most?
The “Super Six” food items that are most needed are:
• Peanut Butter
• Tuna Fish
• Canned Vegetables
• Canned Soup
• Beef Stew
Where can I donate?
You can donate canned foods and non-perishable items at the Cavaliers’ home games on Tuesday, March 12th, Monday, March 18th, Wednesday, Match 20th, Wednesday, March 27th, and Friday, March 29th. There will be collection bins at all entrances at Quicken Loans Arena. If you make a donation at a Cavs game, you’ll receive a buy-one-get-one-free ticket offer to upcoming game in April!
You can also donate canned foods, non-perishable items, and funds at any one of Walgreens’ 67 locations in the Cleveland and Akron areas.
