Cavaliers Visit Cleveland Foodbank
The Cavaliers tipped off the 2013 Harvest for Hunger Campaign presented by Walgreens with an assist at the Cleveland Foodbank. On Monday, March 11th, Cavs’ Omri Casspi, Alonzo Gee, C.J. Miles and Marreese Speights joined Cavaliers staff in sorting and packaging food to be distributed to local food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters and used to help feed families in the community.
In addition, the Cavs are asking fans for their support by donating canned food and non-perishables items at all Cavaliers home games between March 12th-29th in support of the annual Harvest for Hunger Campaign. Collection bins will be located at all Quicken Loans Arena entrances. While all donations will be gladly accepted, Harvest for Hunger is in particular need of the “Super Six,” including:
• Peanut butter
• Tuna fish
• Canned vegetables
• Beef stew
• Canned soup
Fans can also donate canned foods, non-perishable items, and funds at any one of Walgreen’s 67 locations throughout the Cleveland and Akron areas.
