CLEVELAND, OH - September 17, 2010 - The Cleveland Cavaliers teamed up with leading hunger-relief organization Feed The Children to provide over 3,000 families with boxes of food and personal care items. Cavs guards Daniel Gibson, Danny Green and Christian Eyenga along with assistant coaches Paul Pressey, Jamahl Mosley and Chris Jent were on hand to help unload eight trucks and distribute a box of food, a box of essentials and a box of Avon products to over 3,000 families in need.

The Cleveland distribution was the latest stop on Feed The Children’s Americans Feeding Americans Caravan, which has helped more than 140,000 families across the country in cities that have been affected by the nation’s economic downturn. The caravan will help at least 200,000 families by the end of 2010.

The Word Church, a Feed The Children partner agency, identified and passed out vouchers to the recipient families. Each family received a 25-pound box of food, a 10-pound box of personal care items and a box of Avon products. The boxes were designed to help a family for up to one week.
