It was a battle of brain versus brawn at the Cleveland Clinic Courts on Tuesday afternoon as third grade students went head-to-head in a Fit as a Pro vs. Read to Achieve relay race! More than 30 students from Forest Elementary School in North Olmsted and Madison Community Elementary School in Cleveland raced through an obstacle course of seven stations, each with a reading and physical task. Helping the students along the way were the Cavs’ Kyrie Irving, Wayne Ellington, Luke Walton and Omri Casspi, as well as Assistant Coaches Nate Tibbetts and Aubrey McCreary, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Derek Millender and Assistant Trainer Steve Spiro.

After both teams raced to the finish line, the students had an opportunity to sit down with the players and coaches for a question and answer session.

The seven-station relay race was a part of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Read to Achieve program presented by Time Warner Cable and in association with Castaway Bay, and the Cavs’ Fit as a Pro program presented by Medical Mutual and Giant Eagle.
