NBA FIT Live Healthy Week
In conjunction with NBA FIT Live Healthy Week, Cavaliers players Kevin Jones, Shaun Livingston, and Luke Walton, along with mascots Moondog, Sir CC, and the Scream Team were on hand to participate in the Fit As A Pro program with the 4th grade students of Douglas MacArthur Girls’ Leadership Academy, as a way of encouraging children to partake in daily exercise. The day included a stretch, warm-up activity, and Zumba routine, before concluding with a question and answer session where Cavs players shared tips on staying active and healthy.
Luke Walton expressed how simple it was to squeeze in a few push-ups and jumping-jacks during commercials while watching TV or playing video games, while Kevin Jones shared that he drinks water and Gatorade to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Each student received a Cavaliers t-shirt, autographed signing card, and a ticket to an upcoming Cavs game upon the conclusion of the workout.
The Cleveland Cavaliers Fit As A Pro program, presented by Medical Mutual and Giant Eagle, is a year-round initiative developed by the Cavaliers to encourage physical fitness and well-balanced nutrition among children. The program is open to all elementary and middle school students, grades K-8, in Cuyahoga, Lorain, Summit, Medina, Portage, Geauga and Lake counties.
