Of course every day is a good day to be healthy, but for one lucky school in Cleveland, Friday was a great day to get Fit ... as a Pro!
The Cavaliers surprised the student body of Patrick Henry Elementary School with a gym class takeover as part of the team’s “Fit as a Pro” initiative, presented by Medical Mutual and in association with Giant Eagle. More than 10 teachers at the school had enrolled their classrooms in the year-long health and wellness program, so the whole school was treated to the fun.

The Wine and Gold put on a show for the kindergarteners through eighth graders, featuring emcees Olivier and Ahmaad, the Cavaliers PA announcer and in-arena host, respectively. The pair spoke to the kids about the importance of practicing a healthy lifestyle. They were joined by members of the Cavalier Girls, Scream Team and Q Spirit Squad. The entertainers spoke about how they rely on their health and physical fitness to perform their jobs day-in and day-out.
Several of the students had the opportunity to show off one of many ways to get and stay in shape: dancing. A dance-off was held amongst the students, and from the smallest to the oldest, everyone displayed their best moves.
And the fun didn’t end there. The teachers showed some moves of their own! The festivities wrapped up with the teachers strutting their stuff in a line dance.
A fun, and educational, time was had by all!
