Spring has officially sprung, and 400 Cleveland kids are getting the new season started in a healthy way. The student body of Charles Dickens Elementary School was treated to a Wine and Gold “gym class takeover” on Friday as part of the Cavs “Fit as a Pro” program, presented by Medical Mutual and in association with Giant Eagle.

Cavs in-arena host Ahmaad and PA announcer Olivier emceed the activities, talking to the kids about the importance of practicing a healthy lifestyle. The duo was also joined by members of the Cavalier Girls, Scream Team and Q Spirit Squad, all of whom have jobs that require them to stay in tip-top shape. The entertainers told the young crowd about what it takes to be able to perform day in and day out.
Once the talking was done, it was time to get moving. The entertainment team members selected several students to compete in a dance-off, which got a rousing reaction from the rest of the kids. But that was nothing compared to what would happen next: it was time for the teachers to show off their dance moves. That really got the kids excited.
While it may have seemed like fun and games, it was also a good learning lesson for the Cleveland-area kids who had the chance to see for themselves what it takes to be fit as a pro.
