Quicken Loans and Cavaliers Encourage Cleveland Kids to Dream Big and Design Their New Playground

CLEVELAND-July 9th, 2007 - Today, Cleveland area school children put their crayons to paper to design a "dream playground" that will be built by Quicken Loans and Cleveland Cavaliers volunteers on Saturday, Sept. 29th! Cavaliers and Quicken Loans team members, including Jeff Perry, Quicken Loans' Cleveland Web Center VP, Cavaliers Legends Austin Carr, Campy Russell and team mascot Moondog, helped these deserving kids draw their very own playground designs that will help bring their real playground to life.
The school, Preparing Academic Leaders Academy, in Maple Heights, serves 330 kids, ages 5 -12, who have emotional and behavioral disorders by providing specialized instruction and counseling. Their school has NEVER had a playground! In fact, the nearest playground is several miles away... So, the Cavaliers and Quicken Loans have partnered with KaBOOM! (a non-profit that envisions a "great place to play within walking distance of every kid in America") to fund and build the playground of their dreams!!
