Where the Wild Things Are
The Cavaliers hosted 200 kids for a monstrous Reading Time-Out
CLEVELAND, OH - October 14, 2009 - To kick off the Cavaliers 2009-10 Read to Achieve program, Cavalier forward Anderson Varejao and members of the Cavalier Girls and Cavs Scream Team conducted a “Reading Time-Out” sending the imaginations of kids from St. Martin de Porres, University Settlement, Project Act and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland to a mysterious forest where mischief reigns.
The Cleveland Cavaliers hosted 200 kids for a monstrous “Reading Time-Out” of the book “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak. The story is about a child, Max, who is sent to his room without dinner where his imagination sends him to a fantasy world where the Wild Things live. After the last page was turned, the children turned their eyes from the book to the big screen to watch a private advance screening of the new Warner Bros. movie, “Where the Wild Things Are™.” The youngsters received snack packs along with some special items from the Cavs and Warner Bros.
