CLEVELAND, OH - October 26, 2009 - In conjunction with the White House’s “United We Serve” initiative, the Cleveland Cavaliers organization participated in the NBA’s “Week of Service” over the last week, giving back to Cleveland and regional communities that support the team. The Cavaliers visited four different communities during the week, including Pittsburg and Columbus, as well as Cleveland and Elyria.

Last Friday, the Cavaliers teamed up with the hunger relief organization, Feed the Children, to provide 400 boxes of food and personal care items to families in need at two area Boys & Girls Clubs.

Cavalier players Jawad Williams and Darnell Jackson along with assistant coach Chris Jent and player development coordinator Lloyd Pierce helped unload the Feed the Children truck at the Westside Boys & Girls Club in Cleveland, while teammates J.J. Hickson and Danny Green, along with assistant coaches Melvin Hunt and Mike Malone, lent a hand at the Nordson Community Center/Lorain Boys & Girls in Elyria.
