CLEVELAND, OH - October 21, 2009 - Prior to the Cleveland Cavaliers preseason game in Columbus to face the Boston Celtics, members of the Cavaliers Game Entertainment crew – the Cavalier Girls dance team and hip hop troupe the Scream Team – stopped at the Ronald McDonald House of Columbus and prepared and served a lunch provided by Giant Eagle to guests staying at the house.
As part of the NBA’s Week of Service, and in partnership with the White House’s “United We Serve” initiative, the visit is the Cavaliers way of saying thank you to the Columbus community for their support and for welcoming the team to their city the past several years for preseason games.
The Cavalier Girls and Scream Team took some time before the game to prepare and serve sub sandwiches, a variety of salads, chips, cookies, brownies and soda to guests that represent the families and staff of the Ronald McDonald House of Columbus. When they weren’t in the kitchen they were spread throughout the house helping keep things clean and guests healthy by vacuuming, dusting, washing windows and mopping floors.
