As Senior Vice President of Global Marketing Partnerships for NBA China, Raymond Tao leads the Global Marketing Partnerships team and is responsible for sponsorship and media revenue generation, new business development and partnership management throughout Greater China.

Tao has extensive experience in China across the advertising, marketing, media and public relations fields. Prior to joining the NBA, Tao spent 20 years working for the Manhattan-based global advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather. In his final five years with the agency, Tao served as president of its advertising division in China, where he was successful in growing business and increasing profitability. He also served on the Ogilvy China executive committee tasked with developing the company’s strategic plan for China.

Tao joined Ogilvy & Mather in 1993 and previously served as an account executive; managing director and head of the company’s two main offices in Beijing and Shanghai; and Vice President, Advertising in China. He has worked with a number of China’s major multinational companies, including China Mobile, Changhong Electronics, Red Bull, Yili Milk, 361, TCL and Gome.

Tao graduated from Beijing Polytechnic University with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He lives in Beijing with his wife and two children.
