As Senior Vice President of International Licensing and Business Development at the National Basketball Association, Robert W. Millman oversees international, premiums/self sourcing, and business development for the Global Merchandising Group (GMG).

Prior to assuming his current position in 2010, Millman acted as Vice President of Business Development and International for GMG since 2004. In this role, he secured the league’s new global Panini partnership; established new FICE in China, allowing significant sourcing opportunities; built the league’s global premiums/self sourcing business infrastructure; and built the international merchandising business to represent more than 30 percent of global GMG business.

Millman has also served as Vice President in several other capacities within various league departments: of Business Operations and Global Coordination with GMG, of Business Operations and Development with the Consumer Products Group, of the International Group, of International Consumer Products, and of Retail and Premium Sales with the Licensing Group. Millman joined the NBA in 1982 as a national sales manager.

Before joining the NBA, Millman held several positions with Jordan March Co. in Boston, including as buyer and assistant buyer at Boys Furnishings, and as divisional sales manager. He launched his career in 1977 as a department sales manager.

Millman assists the University of Vermont on career placement issues. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration in marketing from the university.

A Scarsdale, N.Y. resident, Millman and his wife Karen have two children, Jesse and Rebecca.
