NBA Asia
As Senior Vice President and Managing Director of NBA Asia, Scott Levy oversees development and expansion of the NBA’s branding and basketball initiatives in all NBA Asia markets, excluding Greater China and India. Levy also directs all of NBA Asia’s business groups, including marketing partnerships, events, television, digital media, and licensed merchandise. He reports to President of NBA International Heidi Ueberroth.
Prior to joining NBA Asia in April 2009, Levy ran his own consulting company, MJ Global Sports and Media Inc., from 2006 to 2009. Levy previously worked for the NBA for ten years and left as Senior Vice President, International Television and Marketing Partnerships. During Levy’s tenure, he helped grow broadcast distribution for NBA games and programming to 215 countries in more than 40 languages, including expanded reach into China. Under his leadership, NBA TV, the league’s 24-hour television network that launched internationally during the 2000-01 season, grew its distribution to include France, Russia, Spain, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Turkey, and countries throughout the Middle East.
Prior to beginning his first NBA stint in 1996, Levy traveled extensively throughout Asia. Before that, he worked for McCann Erickson Worldwide, where he oversaw international media for Coca-Cola and Gillette, among other clients.
Levy is on the board of the Global Health Society, a nonprofit organization that conducts camps and develops programs for children with bleeding disorders. He has competed in multi-sport and adventure races, including the New York Marathon, Ironman 70.3 Philippines, and several triathlons raising funds for Fred's Team and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Levy is based in Hong Kong with wife Ilene and sons Matthew and Joshua.
