As Senior Vice President of Events & Attractions for the National Basketball Association, Peter Fink manages major national and international events for the NBA, WNBA, and USA Basketball, including NBA Europe Live presented by EA SPORTS; the NBA All-Star Game; the NBA Draft; the WNBA All-Star Game; NBA Games – London 2011, the first regular-season NBA games in Europe; and the Olympic Games in Sydney (2000), Athens (2004), and Beijing (2008). He manages event production teams, venue and arena operations, and ticketing, credentials, decoration, branding, and event budgets for all events. Fink works extensively in Europe, managing promoter and business deals on the continent and acting as liaison between NBA and Euroleague teams to schedule preseason games in the U.S.
Among Fink’s major accomplishments with the NBA are supervising ticket sales and event ticketing operations for the record crowd of 108,713 at Cowboys Stadium for the 2010 NBA All-Star Game. He also helped coordinate the first Europe Live concept, when four teams traveled to Europe, conducted training camps, and played games in seven European markets. He has been actively involved in all four years of the event.
Fink joined the NBA in 1994 as a coordinator in Events & Attractions. Prior to starting with the league, he acted as a special projects manager for Astrodome USA / Houston Sports Association, the management company that operated the MLB’s Houston Astros and managed the Houston Astrodome, AstroArena, and Houston Convention Center. There, he managed various events, including concerts and sporting events.
Fink holds a master’s degree in education from the University of Houston and a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and political science at Southwestern University, where he played basketball for four years.
