Senior Vice President, Global Marketing Partnerships
Until March, 2010, Collins served as Senior Vice President of International Development. In that role, Collins managed the development of the league's international business, including sponsorship, exhibition game development, NBA China business operations, new league initiatives, and building league operations in emerging markets such as India and Latin America. Prior to that, Collins served as the NBA’s Vice President of Global Marketing Partnerships until 2008, managing many of the league's major U.S., global, and international marketing partnerships. Collins began his NBA career as account director in the marketing partnerships group in 2001.
Prior to joining the NBA, Collins worked as Director of Event Development at SFX Sports Group, where he built and managed the company's golf, consulting, hospitality, and tennis events business. He joined SFX in 1999, when they acquired Integrated Sports International, for which Collins had been working since 1996 as a director and manager of special events, producing and promoting events for a wide range of clients, including the NFL, American Airlines and Burger King. Collins began his career as an event manager at Promo One, a New Jersey-based event marketing agency, managing event operations for outdoor festivals.
Collins is involved in community volunteer projects, including mentoring and youth instruction programs, including the Harlem Educational Activities Fund. He is an active triathlete and a member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s TEAM In Training. He is also a member of the Alumni Advisory Board at the Ohio University Sports Administration. In 2012, Collins was recognized as a Forty Under 40 recipient from the Sports Business Journal.
He holds a master’s degree in sports administration from Ohio University and a bachelor’s in human resource management from Michigan State University, where he was also a two-time NCAA Division I All-American wrestler.
Collins lives in Brooklyn, N.Y. with his wife Kate and their two daughters, Naiyah and Zadie.
