As Senior Vice President, International Basketball Operations, Kim Bohuny oversees all interactions with the more than 80 international players currently on NBA rosters. She also serves as the league’s liaison to FIBA – the governing body for international basketball – and the 213 basketball federations and leagues worldwide.
Bohuny oversees the NBA’s international basketball development strategies, including the planning and implementation of the Basketball without Borders program, the NBA's premier global basketball development and community relations initiative. In addition, her group conducts elite and grassroots coaching and player development camps and clinics on five continents each year.
Bohuny also works closely with USA Basketball on the planning of the Men’s and Women’s National Team schedules for both the World Cup and the Olympics. She has served on the Board of Directors of USA Basketball since 1996. Additionally, Bohuny serves on the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame International Election Committee.
Prior to her promotion to her current position in 2010, Bohuny had been Vice President of International Basketball Operations since 2000. She has also held positions as Senior Director and Director of Player and Basketball Development. Bohuny joined the NBA in 1990 as Manager of International Events, where she oversaw the league’s international events and developed relationships with the international basketball community.
Prior to joining the NBA, Bohuny served as Manager of Research of the Goodwill Games for Turner Broadcasting, Inc. from 1985 to 1990. Bohuny graduated from Furman University in Greenville, S.C., with a B.A. in sports marketing. She currently lives in New Jersey.
