As Senior Vice President of Marketing Solutions & USA Basketball at the National Basketball Association, Aaron Ryan manages the business operations for USA Basketball, including sponsorship sales and marketing for the Men’s and Women’s Olympic Basketball teams. As the leader of USA Basketball's business unit, Ryan has been influential in establishing new partnerships in key categories, increasing tickets sales of exhibition games hosted by USA Basketball, and reducing overall expenses, guiding the organization to one of its most profitable Olympic cycles in 2012. In addition, Ryan oversees the NBA’s Marketing Solutions group and hospitality team, responsible for building partnership concepts and solutions for new global prospects as well as current marketing partners across the NBA, Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), NBA Development League (NBA D-League), and USA Basketball.

Prior to his current role, Ryan worked as an Account Manager within the NBA’s industry-renowned Team Marketing & Business Operations department. He managed the day-to-day league business relationships with the Chicago Bulls, Charlotte Bobcats, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Portland Trailblazers, advising those franchises on aspects such as ticket sales, sponsorship development, customer retention, digital sales, and marketing. Ryan also served as a senior advisor in developing function specific workshops and training sessions for NBA, WNBA, and NBA D-League teams.

Ryan began his career at the league with NBA Entertainment, serving as Senior Manager of Live Production and Entertainment. In this role, Ryan worked as a lead producer for five consecutive NBA All-Star Games as well as serving as the chief production liaison between the NBA, the IOC and FIBA for the 2004 Men’s and Women’s Olympic Basketball Tournament in Athens, Greece. In addition, Ryan helped create and develop many of the league’s current sponsorship platforms used throughout NBA All-Star, including the Taco Bell Skills Challenge and Sprite Slam Dunk.

Ryan received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Miami University and an M.B.A. from Cornell University. A Minnesota native, Ryan now resides in Maplewood, N.J. with his wife Janie, and two daughters, Lydia and Lauren.
